Down to the wire…

Well here we are again. It’s been a busy 8 months. I didn’t expect to take this long making the new album, as most of the material was completed in the first 3 months. Having said that, 8 months is not all that long for coming out with a completely new album, with all new original material, no remixes.

I’m currently mixing down the last track, unless another one comes along unexpectedly, and start working on this release. Again, the album is yet untitled. It is, however, something to be very excited about. It represents change, growth, a continued learning of music and how to respect the art. Edgy, yet subtle and calming. Soothing, but it will make you want to dance.

Stay tuned over the next month, as I will being releasing little snippets here and there. Videos are still forthcoming.

Something beautiful…

Digging back I remember making this post.

It’s really hard sometimes. When reality hits you like a ton of bricks, and there’s really nothing you can do about it. Well, that is, unless you get up and do something about it.

I’ve had people assume the worst things about me because I choose to believe, to influence, and experience life differently than your average six-pack-joe.

The message is in the music. And why this style of music? Because it’s so elaborate, there’s so many different ways you can relate. And you’ve heard what I’ve got so far. I’ll tell you that I’ve gotten nothing but inspiring feedback (for example). I certainly don’t expect it; the simple fact that people can listen to my music and enjoy it means they recognize the message behind it, and it helps me to appreciate that and forge on. And on. And on.

I am currently nearing completion of another exquisite collection of material that I cannot wait to spring upon the world. As I finish each track I can feel it brimming with anticipation of how you guys are going to accept it. Trust me when I tell you, it’s an honor, an exhilaration worth feeling through all the hurt, be it physical or emotional, that an artist makes when composing such music.

In the end, I expect nothing from the world in return for this. If I stand to benefit from what I do, I am grateful. I am just another piece of the puzzle with a story to tell. To make my mark in the world, to let my story be heard, to let it be known that all this is a result of a catalyst: an event that propelled me to do what I do. To shed any and all stereotypes, labels and derision (Lord knows how many I’ve endured), and use sadness, pain, longing, and turn it into something beautiful.

Thank you all for even lending me your ear-time; again, the way I see it, it’s an honor worthy of the trade. I promise you that the music you are about to hear soon will hopefully help to affect change your life; mine too. And, without words, it will help you to understand a little more about the story I’m telling; a quite common one in life, yet one I feel is so profound (in my case), and different, that words will never describe.

Stay tuned.

Orchestral instrumentations are most rewarding

I just wanted to point something out. Orchestral instrumentals are the HARDEST to compose and arrange. However, the silver lining is that they are generally the most rewarding. I can listen to a track over and over without getting tired of it.

The soft, flowing melodies tell a story that only the listener can read. The wondrous thing about these instrumentals is that it fits the listener in whatever way, shape, or form they choose or that they feel. This is why I love doing such orchestral instrumentals.

I promise this will be one to love. The wait will be rewarding. Stay tuned!

Traffic explosion

Well, posting up my music like that caused my web presence to explode, and tons of traffic to the site that I’ve never had before. I guess it was all worth it, you know, all the social networking sites and what not.

On the music front, it seems the new album is going to be slightly delayed. Now I know the reason why it’s so hard for artists to meet a release date. If you can show me ONE artist whose album is not delayed, I’ll pay you a million dollars. :-D It’s just not happening. There will always be some type of delay.

At any rate, I just wanted to state that A Million Tears will remain up for at least another week, so if you haven’t got around to listening to it, you might want to go give it a shot before it disappears into 30 second clips again. :-) Just a reminder. Oh, and here’s the link again in case you can’t find it. http://wp.me/pBmut-5y

I just finished piecing together another track for the new album this afternoon, so I will spend a few more days touching it up, composing the rest, arranging, and then mixing and mastering. This one is a straight instrumental, and is definitely inspired by Yanni’s “Until the Last Moment”. You guys will love this one.

Until then, take care, and stay tuned for ever more music.

Trucking on…

Just wrapped up track 11 for the new album. Hard work, hard work, but this will definitely pay off.

Due to some personal hardships, a lot of things got slowed down. I’m hoping that they will taper so that I can continue my career.

This new album is much edgier. Creative-wise, skill-wise, technological wise, I feel that this has been a wonderful learning process. I promise, you will enjoy this one. It’s slated to hopefully be released in March this year. I can’t make any promises, but that’s what I’ve got scheduled.

Yanni likes the videos I made covering his songs years ago. I’m glad he enjoys it. I’ve been talking to him via Twitter; he’s gracious enough to answer my tweets.

Anyhow, it’s late. We got SNOWED IN with that blizzard. And more is supposed to come! :-0

Ok, off to sleep! Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for lots more to come!

So I just cut a new track…

So, last night, in the midst of all the pain and no medication to take (or lack thereof, I didn’t want it to cloud my abilities), I finished a track for my new album. This track is in the same vein as One Republic’s “Apologize”. Instrumental only, ladies and gentlemen. :-) Every artist loves the work they do, every song they make.  But there are some songs which just have that feel, that vibe, where you just know that this is something hot. That’s the way I feel about this song I just made.

I have great respect for artists such as One Republic, and guys like Ronald Jenkees, who, I should mention, is exactly the same as me. We do the same stuff. We work with computers. We are self taught musicians.

Last post, I surmised about loving to do an instrumental collaboration with Ryan Tedder of One Republic, Ronald Jenkees, or even Timbaland for that matter, who I must say has had a great effect on One Republic’s musical style, and music in general. I want to take instrumentals to a new level, and I think working with these great artists will afford me the ability to do that.

I’m going to try and reach out to them and see what they have to say.

Now we’re cooking…

So I linked up my site with Twitter. But that’s not the primary reason for this post.

I’ve been thinking a lot about collabs for my new album. You can find those who I’ve followed on my Twitter page as possibilities for collaboration. I’d love to do it. Seriously.

Want to hear a new song?

If you want to hear a new song, please head over to Kyle DiSanto’s page. He’s does professional mastering, and I had the pleasure of having him master a few of my songs.

On his media player, you will see one of my songs, titled “Written With Love”, off the album “A Million Tears”.

Enjoy! Stay tuned for more updates!

Total Eclipse

Here is a song that I made for my previous effort, “Whispers of Winter”. The song was completely composed and arranged by Motif XS 8, and mastered via Sonar Cakewalk 7.0.

Please, listen and enjoy!!!

In other news, I have finally chosen the title for my album, and it is very fitting. The name is “A Million Tears.” This is obviously a title derived from the title track on the CD “A Million Tears”, and, I do have to tell you, it’s a killer track.

The site theme and artwork will start to be updated to reflect the new album title, and a whole lot more material will be coming in the near future.

active soon

As this month comes to a close, I find myself thinking more and more of how my next album is going to shape up. The ideas come so fast and overflow so easily; I find it hard to contain myself, but I have to…

So quiet, so very quiet now

So quiet, so very quiet now

This is going to be a great upcoming musical project. Yamaha just released lots of updates for the Motif XS, which will only help me in my endeavor. Some of the things that they released, such as new drum sounds, only serve to provide the basis for my musical experimentation.

In the meantime, I have narrowed down to 2 names for my current album’s title. Also, working on getting the thing copyrighted so I can release it to the world.

Good things to come, really good. At the expense of my feelings, so be it. Stay tuned. A rollercoaster wave of  music is coming soon!!!
